iPod Video
TV Cable
To
connect your iPod to a TV (including the large screen TV's in
venues) the iPod uses a special 3-way cable for video and audio
like the cable you see pictured on the right.
The white and red plugs are for audio (Left & Right) and
the yellow plug is for video.
The other end of the cable (the single jack) fits in to your
iPods earphone plug.
To use the cable, plug the red and white plugs in to your home
stereo, professional mixing desk or powered speakers, then insert
the yellow plug in to the rca video input of your TV.
This high quality connector is made specifically for iPods with
colour display and also works as a normal iPod audio cable.

Warning
Beware of cheaper cables, especially from auction sites like
eBay etc. They are poorly manufactured and short out easily
(which can damage your iPod). The little red, white and yellow
labels on the jackplugs are flimsy pieces of plastic which come
off after a few uses and then you don't know which plug is for
what!
Similarly, Apple, the iPods manufacturer, produce a very high
quality and expensive cable which should also be avoided. Although
the Apple high quality cable uses high quality jacks, the cable
lead itself is very stiff and rigid and breaks after prolonged
use.
